Cropping images and videos on your iPhone has always been kind of clunky in the Photos app, but Apple just made the process better with the iOS 17 update. And it also works for iPad on iPadOS 17.
Before, you would open the image or video in Photos, hit "Edit" from the toolbars, choose the "Crop" tool, and then resize it using the bounding box or by zooming in. That works the same way on iOS 17 and iPadOS 17, but now there's an easier, quicker way to crop your pictures and videos. Private Browsing mode finally lives up to its name in Apple's huge Safari 17 update for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Apple Notes has received many improvements over its lifetime, but noticeably absent year after year was the ability to easily add quick links in notes to other notes for reference. The latest software updates for iPhone, iPad, and Mac finally address this with a simple note-linking tool.
Note-to-note connections let you "link your thinking" so that your notes aren't isolated in their folders and are easier to find later. Now, ideas in one note can be quickly connected to ideas in another, meaning you don't have to resort to broader connections using tags to group related topics.

Missing a FaceTime video call no longer means missing out on a conversation. With the latest FaceTime update, an incoming caller can leave you a video message when you don't answer — and you can leave a video message for somebody who misses or rejects your FaceTime video call.

A new feature in Apple's latest big iPhone software update lets you personalize how you appear on other people's incoming call screens and even customize individual contacts on your own incoming call screen if they don't have a preferred style to show you.
